It's been less than a week since the CORE festival and we're back in Glasgow already.
VENUE: THE HUG & PINT
Line-up:
BENEATH A STEEL SKY: New band, first gig! Featuring Greg from CODESPEAKER on keys and vocals, so now he's in 66.6% of Scotland's post-metal bands.
A BURIAL AT SEA: Trumpety mathy post-rock from Ireland. It's maybe too easy a comparison, but think of ASIWYFA with added parp and you won't be too far from the mark.
SHY, LOW: Last time I saw this band was on a sunny afternoon in the middle of a forest in Belgium, some 5 years ago. Now that they're here in a tiny, dark basement in Glasgow, I don't recall them being so explosively fucking LOUD. Hefty post-rock of the highest order.
That's it for now. Been a busy few days, but I'm off until next month. Bunch o' stuff coming in September, though. Which is nice.
