Bailey from Scapegoat Promotions and Ali Lauder from, amongst others, Of Spire and Throne put together an extreme metal feast for the lucky people in Edinburgh. Two days, three venues. Obviously, there was too much for one person to see, but here's a round-up of the stuff I managed to catch on Day 1.
Line-up:
UNHALLOWED VOID: Local deathcore lads, now a 4-piece, still no drummer.
SCORDATURA: Glasgow death metal veterans.
STAIRMASTER: Theatrical grindcore. Includes former members of Wheelchair x 4. I'm still not quite sure what it was that I watched here...
GENDO IKARI: Masters of grind, celebrating the release of their new album.
AGELESS SUMMONING: Ali's new death/doom project. They asked for orange lights, they got orange lights.
CREPITATION: Brutal death/grind. Very silly song titles, bodily functions/fluids feature strongly
INIQUITOUS SAVAGERY: Death metal. Very turbulent crowd in the Banshee Labyrinth. Lots of hair action.
