Assorted metal from down south in Yorkshire/Derbyshire. Or, as they would say, The North.
ANTHRADETH: An unexpected bonus. Thrashy duo formed of the guitarist and bass player - now on drums - of SINNERS SERMON. The name's a mash-up of ANTHRAX and MEGADETH, apparently, which is the sound they're aiming for.
RAPTORGEIST: Heavy Metal/Thrash from Derby. Which isn't Sheffield. May contain traces of Viking. They claim to be 'the Gods', but I'm not convinced.
SPACE WITCH: Horror/space doom from Stoke. Stoke, in fact, on Trent. Their first gig in Edinburgh since 2016, which is, I have to say, far too long.
SOUR TUSK: Power trio from Sheffield, apparently like 'MOTORHEAD arm-wrestling with CLUTCH'. More Clutch than Motorhead, to be fair, despite ending their set with an unplanned cover of the latter's 'No Class'. Quite loud. Wearing their own merch and not giving a fuck.
SINNERS SERMON: Doom/NWOBHM/porno groove from, yes, Yorkshire. Maybe even Sheffield. Dubious relationship with apostrophes. Drummer and singer seem to be involved in some kind of 'staring intensely' competition.
