DUNK! FEST, ZOTTEGEM, BELGIUM, MAY 2019

I only arrived on site here late on the second day, so I'll only include the bands I did see in this post. There were far too many to mention otherwise.

Line-up:

HER NAME IS CALLA: Never knew how to describe this band. A mix of alt-rock/post-rock/folk/punk and everything else. Emotional and powerful, never achieved the level of success they richly deserved. Now mostly disbanded, but y'never know...

WREKMEISTER HARMONIES: Mesmerising drone/doom duo from Chicago

SHY, LOW: Sturdy post-rock/post-metal from Virginia. One of those bands I thought I'd never get to see.

ZHAO ZE: Stunning Post-rock from China, mixing traditional instruments with standard modern kit. Another band I thought I'd never see.

SUMMIT: Local post rockers

LE TEMPS DU LOUP: Despite the name, these lads are from Spain. Opening up the final day of the fest on the main stage.

GIFTS FROM ENOLA: One of the bands who got me into Post-rock in the beginning. Another 'never-thought-I'd-see' band.

BOSSK: One of the UK's finest post-metal bands, performing that night without vocals. Still awesome, though.

KOKOMO: Crushing post-rock from Germany. Very loud.

ROBOT DEATH MONKEY, ROYAL BRITISH LEGION, DUNBAR, OCTOBER 31 2025

The 'hardest band in Scotland' bothering the locals.  Scene veterans and a handful of noisy local youth combos. It's a small tow...
