Belgian post-metal brutalists in Edinburgh for, I believe, the very first time.
SIEM REAP: Research suggests that SIEM REAP is either the second largest city in Cambodia or a solo project of WIEGEDOOD's Gilles Demolder. Common sense suggests the latter. Imagine my surprise, then, when... nah, it's Gilles. Quiet, introspective singer/songwriter stuff, competing with a steady buzz of conversation from the crowd. Someone shouts 'Haw, gonnae shut the fuck up, lads!', with very little effect. Which is a shame, because he deserves more respect.

AMENRA: Just a short, 1 hour, set from the soul-destroying Belgians. They do bleak, crushing and emotionally devastating post-metal like no-one else, other than, perhaps, Hundred Year Old Man. Also very hard to photograph.
