NÜ CROS: Opening up this year's fest, Glaswegian alt-rock quartet. Punky and noisy.
WHITELANDS: Top class Emo-gaze kinda thing from London. Not metal in the slightest.
GLITTERER: Emo-punks from Washington D.C.. That's in America, y'know. Slightly sadly, the only glitter on display is the eye make-up of the keyboard player.

There ye go. Day 1. A fair contrast to last year's relatively gentle emo-led Friday, with Glasgow lying in ruins after SHOW ME THE BODY's furious set. Your intrepid blogger took a few sore ones to the back, but survived and will return for more.
